4-H Nova Scotia is pleased to partner with Kubota to offer
Leadership Development Scholarships
4-H members in each county have an opportunity to win a scholarship to cover registration fees to attend a leadership development conference. Scholarships will be selected as part of 4-H Nova Scotia Award Opportunities but are not considered a national award. Scholarships cover registration fees and will be awarded to one member per county for each of the following conferences:
ATLANTIC MEMBERS CONFERENCE:
March 27-29, 2020 @ Debert Hospitality Conference Center, Debert, NS
– Open to Intermediate 4-H Members (12-15 years of age as of January 1, 2020)
– Conference Theme: to be announced.
STFX LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT CONFERENCE:
May 8-10, 2020, St. Francis Xavier University, Antigonish, NS
– Open to 4-H Members 14 years of age and older as of January 1, 2020
– Conference Theme Pillar: Environment and Healthy Living.
In keeping with this theme, conference participants will participate in workshops focused on ways they can have positive impact in the community where they live. These sessions carried different topics in human kinetics, medical science, environmental science, technology, and nutrition. Participants are empowered to share their newly gained knowledge with those in their home communities – throughout Atlantic Canada.
The conference workshops and events are developed by members of the StFX 4-H Student Society, a group of enthusiastic 4-H alumni who study at StFX. These events are facilitated by an interdisciplinary group of leaders including StFX faculty and students in the Faculties of Science and Nutrition, the McKenna Centre for Leadership, the StFX Extension Department, and members of the broader Antigonish community. The inclusion of such a diverse group will ensure that participants will leave well prepared to be the next leaders of Atlantic Canada!
