This popular project guides members to develop their culinary interests. For Achievement Day completion, members submit a food item (with the printed recipe) or poster and a recipe binder that contains a minimum of six recipes completed throughout the project year. A focus area is specified for each 4-H year to allow members to explore and learn about a variety of food items. As with other 4-H projects, class lists are provided for competition and food items are to fit within the outlined class lists, such as: gift items; cakes; specialty breads and main course. Building confidence in preparing food is a great life skill for all members!
